Lambda Jam 2019 – George Wilson – Functional Programming in Education” Funnily enough, when I did first year Comp Sci in 1997 at the University of Western Australia, the first six months were spent in Miranda, via Bird and Wadler's "An Introduction to Functional Programming". Twenty years later, I appreciate all the reasons that the professors chose to do this, many of which are covered in this talk, but at the time I remember it more as being a frustrating six months spent writing code that DIDN'T DO ANYTHING, followed by a feeling of great relief when we moved on to Pascal and started writing interactive programs. Reply "You're spoiling the rest of my talk, Phil!" lol https://youtu.be/yLTgPuOrUmI?t=255 Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
