  1. Steve Vai, it look like you are in my mind, once again you keep on inspiring me, making not wanting to QUITE!!

  2. I think Steve must've actually made a deal w The Devil in Crossroads. The guy hasn't aged in over 30 years.

  3. A powerful lesson to all of are dysfunction ; music > arts > success > all walks of life ! Excellent session from Mr . Vai !

  4. What a great interview. I admit I am not a big fan of Steve Vai's music, but I will listen to it more because I was drawn to this. I am an amateur guitarist. 😉

  5. HE GOT IT THE BRUCE LEE OF GUITAR..AND YES COMES INSIDE THE DEVELOPMENT IN TOUCH SELF FEELING EMOTION HIGH LOW THREW LIFE HURDLES AND HONESTY WITH SELF .AS I NO WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO PLAY LIKE HIM I APPRECIATE HIM TOTALLY BUT DO NO WHAT I CAN DO AND EXPRESS..AND THAT IS TRUE TO SELF NO MATTER

  6. Steve's last comment really resonated with me in regard to offering appreciation, and in return it gives you energy or power. It's very true because at the end of the day our own journey and our own success is drawn from those around us, and that's only possible if we're good to eachother and behaving in an unselfish way

  7. Dom is jamming with Steve Vai in conversation. Right… right… yeah… hahahahaha… yeah…
It’s like drumming versus guitar in words. I’m paused at 34:36.
I’m not so sure Dom knows what Steve is talking about mid sentence, I think he just wants to jam with him.
Dom talks like he drums, I hear his delicate cymbal licks. The occasional bam-bam-bam on the drums.
Often times in a number of videos I wonder why Dom is laughing.
I think he is drumming when he laughs, often times there isn’t anything funny said. He is just drumming with his mouth. His low pitch yeah sounds like a floor tom

  8. A bit boring but I have to give it another view. However, Dom is a great listener and has some really great questions.

  9. This is an incredible session, thanks. I do have to say this though – It is too bad that you allowed the crew in the back ground to reduce the professional quality of the video. Maybe I am just ADHD but someone (or somebodies) kept moving around (the mirror caught all of it) and distracting from the interview. Sorry to be negative but I see it as critical feedback. Thanks again for this production.
EDIT: now that I have finished watching this interview I have a new appreciation for Steve Vai. That is a word I would have used even if he hadn't presented the importance of that concept. He seems to be a truly genuine person who figured it out early on.

  10. Always love steve vai's interviews! very helpful and direct to the point not only on guitar but also with life, thanks for this!
