Meet Our Founder and Executive Director Lorraine Currelley

Poet, writer, artist and storyteller.Widely anthologized and awards recipient. Publications and honors include Mom Egg Review, DoveTales, An International Journal, Belladonna, Blind Beggar Press, and Poets/Artists Magazine. The 2015 Arts for A Lifetime Grant by the New York Public Library, a Bronx Council for the Arts 2014 Su-Casa Residency, and Out of the Binders Scholarships. Featured adviser  DoveTales “Nature” 2015 issue. Poets & Writers Inc. featured her organization Poets Network & Exchange, Inc. in their 2015 Cross Cultural reading and the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) featured her in their June 2015 member Spotlight. Spotlighted by Poets & Writers and the AWP January/February 2016. In 2016 curated Mom Egg Review VOX Gallery.

A Pen To Mind Books & Child Development Concepts, Inc., board member and Bronx Book Fair executive director.

She has a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling, a Certificate in Thanatology (grief and bereavement)  and a Bachelor’s in Psychology. She writes in this professional capacity and incorporates her knowledge to advocate for mental health and healthy aging.

  1. When and where is the next venue for Poetry Network .? I met you at the Countee Cullen libray. I was giving out bookmarks for Sisters Uptown bookstore . I heard you stopped by . I hope you will do a reading there one day.
