Creating a Microsoft Publisher document with bleeds

hi my name is Jessica and I'm gonna walk you through how to create a publisher file with leaves to do that I'm starting off with a blank page book size to eight-and-a-half by eleven I'm gonna go up here to page design right beside the words page setup there's a little arrow I'm gonna click on that it's gonna take us to our page setup box to set up leads I need to tell publisher that I want to print this on a larger sheet of paper to do that I'm gonna go to target paper size and I'm gonna tell it custom we recommend that you set your page up to bleed an eighth of an inch on all four sides when we do that it'll change our paper size to eight point seven five by eleven point two five I'm going to enter that now so we have our paper size at eight point seven five by eleven point two five but our page size is still eight and a half by eleven I'm gonna click OK you'll see that nothing really changed on this page but we're ready to go ahead and start setting up our our page design I'm gonna start by adding a headline and this headline I do not want to bleed off the page so I'm gonna keep it within my half inch margins that's the blue line on the inside of your page I'm gonna add my article and I also don't want any of this to be trimmed so I'm gonna keep that within the half inch margins that's reflected with the blue line now I'm going to insert my photo and this photo I do want to bleed off the page I don't want there to be any white margin between this picture and the page edge so I'm gonna insert it I want to resize it and then I'm going to move it so that at least an eighth of an inch is hanging off the edge of the page here's my page edge I've just dragged to this photo so that it's at least an eighth of an inch off the page edge now I've decided that I'll also want a page background and I want it to go all the way around my page I don't want there to be any white show so I'm going to go back and insert a picture and I'm going to select whichever one of these backgrounds I want gonna rotate it so that it's the same orientation as my page and then I'm going to enlarge it so that at least an eighth of an inch is hanging off the edge of the page so you can see when I move this I'm gonna make sure it's hanging off on all four edges I'm going to send it to the back and I have my page ready to export to a PDF now when I export this I also want to tell my PDF that I have Glee's so I'm going to go to file export and I'm gonna click on create PDF XPS document I'm gonna click on that icon when I click on that it's gonna ask me where I want to save my publication I'm gonna save it on the desktop and then I'm gonna click this options button that's where I'm gonna tell it I have please the publish options dialog box pops up and I'm going to click on the print options in the bottom left corner here we have paper size I want to tell it I have a custom paper size and I want to tell it again it's 8.75 by eleven point two five when I have that in ered I'm gonna click OK well before I click OK I want to make sure that the check mark makes to allow bleeds is checked then I'll click OK click OK again and then we're gonna click publish this is going to generate our PDF when I open up that PDF we'll see that the page is there when I hover in the bottom-left corner this PDF is going to show me what sides my pages and its 8.75 by 11.25 that's the correct size that it needs to be with bleeds when this is printed it's going to be trimmed back down to the eight-and-a-half by eleven page so all of the stuff that's outside of that will be printed and then chopped off if you have any questions you can always call our customer service team at eight six six four three five seven five seven seven
