Poetry of Protest, Survival and Change, A Community Forum

066Poets Network & Exchange’s first Community Forum was a huge success. We accomplished what we had hoped for. Members from our New York City community came out and shared poems, messages, salutations and song. This was sharing in it’s most organic and wholistic form. This was an experience we will all remember. Poets Network & Exchange provided a space thanks to the Harlem Branch NYPL for the New York City community to come together for the express purpose of getting to know each other, connecting and sharing ideas. The overwhelming concensus, more are needed. Poets Network & Exchange heard you and we’re answering the call.
Poets Network & Exchange extends an enthusiastic heartfelt thank you to Shye Sales (Tisha Sales), Baba Ngoma Hill, Ace Ray, Khalil Khan, Phoenix, Roberta Hairston, Miriam Sylla and Herbert Brooks and to all those in attendance. Thank you, to everyone who shared poems, messages, salutations, and Phoenix for captivating us with her lovely singing voice. Thank you again for attending and supporting our very first Community Forum. A special thank you and gratitiude to our co-host Kokumo Noxid for a job well done! Kokumo Noxid you were wonderful! Thank you again to everyone who attended and for continuing your support of Poets Network & Exchange.
