My SPARC 2014 residency is now complete. I admit it’s bittersweet, we had a great time. We became a loving, supportive and cohesive group. Our combined joy is we’re now forever friends. It’s my joy to have met these wonderful, energetic, vibrant, wise and talented writers, more importantly individuals. We were a group ranging in age from 63 to 80. Members of our workshop included Rose Gootzeit, Lenore Greenwald, Bruce Hacen, Max Harding, Christopha Moreland, Estelle Lebowitz, Sherlette Lee, Selma Reva Newman and Marie Ryan.

On June 20th, 2014 we celebrated our commencement exercise with a catered meal and group reading. What a wonderful event shared with family, friends and community.

We’re delighted to share we published “On The Write Path, A Poetry and Creative Writing Journal.” This book is the home for original work created in our poetry and creative writing workshop. You cannot imagine the joy and pride we’re feeling at this moment. For some members this is their first time being published. The front cover is the art work of one of our members a painter. It’s a photo of her children over forty years ago waiting for their school bus. It’s the perfect cover for our book’s title. Don’t you agree?
