  1. Thank you so much for creating this video. I've been thinking of going into publishing for a while and this video is really helpful. X

  2. Hello! Where did you find this publishing jobs offers? Maybe it is a stupid question… but I am a little bit lost and I would love to get a job related to books, I´m in London since 2017, but I´m working for different hotels right now, I wanted to improve my English first so I joined an English school and now I´m studying a postgraduate in Cultural studies, I think having university studies in English could help me and well I´m enjoying my postgraduate so far 🙂 Thanks a lot!

  3. Do you think having tattoos will be something that could affect your shot of getting into publishing? I have several tattoos on my arms and legs, they can be covered HOWEVER, the one on my left arm does go slightly above my wrist bone meaning that with some long sleeved shirts you can see a small amount of it. Would that affect it? Or would it not matter? I am thinking of doing law as well and honeslty, I'm just worried that my tattoos will be a limiting factor.

  4. Thanks so much for this video!! I just graduated with my Master’s degree in advertising and public relations and have been trying to figure out how to use it in a way that I’m passionate about. I’ve always loved books and I’m a pretty good writer, so recently I’ve turned my attention to publishing. I can’t help but notice however, that your initial internship experience seemed to come about from knowing people and I don’t know that many 🙁 any advice? Nevertheless, hearing about your journey was very inspiring

  5. That was an incredibly frank and informative video. May I ask you this… there’s a set ( 108 three times over), ie an amazing collection of 324 poems. If I send just 3 sample poems to the Penguins, is it enough to consider the publishing. Does Penguin appreciate poetry publishing and have a separate division?

  6. Hey, I am watching your videos for 2-3 years now and I just wanted to say that I love watching you speak about books, I'm always curious what are you reading at the moment etc. But this video is super interesting for me, because I work in publishing too – in Bulgaria – and I am translator of books in English. It would be so nice if we could meet and chat, so sorry that we live so far away 🙂

  7. What are your suggestion(s) and or advice for someone wanting to transition from a different industry (fashion) into book publishing?

  8. It’s validating to know I’m not the only person having a hard time finding a job in publishing right after school

  9. Thank you for sharing! I realized my sophomore year of college that I wanted to work in publishing lol I literally forget it was an industry even though I’ve always been a bookworm 🤷🏾‍♀️.

  11. Your English is excellent! I noticed you mentioned you're from Scandinavia, if English isn't your first language, you've done an excellent job acquiring it. if not, then I guess, still. very nice English 🙂

  12. This was such a helpful video – I'm moving to London next year, after I finish university, and starting in Journalism/Photography/Media. It's incredibly encouraging hearing about someone else's experience, because it's such a scary transition; and quite an unsteady period of time in our lives.
    Thank you!

  13. Super informative ! People never talk about publishing in my country so I never truly understood what kind of work it entails haha, always seemed like something I'd like though !

  14. I really like reading and performing arts. I was wondering if you have any advice for doing the audio for audio books

  15. I would LOVE a video or part of a video about tips to get into the industry. I want to get into the industry after university and that would be suuuuuuuper interesting! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, SANNE

  16. so interesting! I'm looking for an internship in the same field as well for my university so this is very interesting!

  17. Hi! Great video, love hearing about your journey into publishing and your career thus far! I'm an international student (non-EU) looking to get a job in publishing. I already have quite a bit of work experience from uni but not sure if the whole visa thing will be a huge deterrent to getting an entry level job – do you happen to know anyone who got a first job in publishing while needing a visa? It would be nice to know what the stats are for that!
